FAQs
The Satechi ChargeView 140W Desktop Charger is a premium multi-port USB-C desktop charger with a built-in LCD display that shows real-time power output per port. It features 4 USB-C ports and supports up to 140W total output, enabling simultaneous charging of multiple devices from your desk.
The charger has 4 USB-C ports with different charging standards:
- Port C1: USB PD 3.2 with AVS (Adjustable Voltage Supply) technology
- Ports C2, C3, C4: USB PD 3.1 with PPS (Programmable Power Supply) technology
All four ports support simultaneous charging. The charger dynamically distributes power based on each connected device's requirements.
The built-in smart display shows real-time power output for each port individually. This lets you see exactly how much wattage each device is drawing, so you can verify your devices are charging properly without guessing.
Yes. The ChargeView 140W can charge a MacBook alongside phones, tablets, and other USB-C devices. When multiple devices are connected, the total 140W is dynamically shared across the active ports. For best results, connect your highest-power device to Port C1.
AVS (Adjustable Voltage Supply) is part of USB PD 3.2 and allows finer voltage adjustments for more efficient charging. PPS (Programmable Power Supply) is part of USB PD 3.1 and enables real-time voltage and current adjustments for compatible devices. Both technologies help optimize charging speed and efficiency.
Yes. The ChargeView 140W comes with a modular stand that lets you position the charger either vertically or horizontally on your desk.
The charger uses smart power distribution to dynamically allocate power based on the requirements of connected devices. When you connect additional devices, the charger automatically renegotiates power delivery across all ports. Refer to the Power Distribution article for the specific wattage allocation table.
When a new device is connected, the charger briefly renegotiates power distribution across all ports. This may cause a momentary interruption. Your devices should resume charging within a few seconds. If charging does not resume, unplug all devices and reconnect them, starting with your highest-power device on Port C1.
Yes. The ChargeView 140W uses GaN (Gallium Nitride) technology, which is more efficient than traditional chargers but can still produce warmth under high load. Ensure the charger has adequate ventilation. If it becomes too hot to touch or emits any unusual smell, stop using it immediately and contact Satechi Technical Support.
For optimal charging performance, use USB-IF certified USB-C cables that support Power Delivery. Cable quality directly impacts charging speed.
The Satechi ChargeView 140W Desktop Charger is compatible with USB-C devices that support USB Power Delivery.
