Spectra Scissors are engineered for delicate, close-range work, with a finger-notched grip and featherweight balance that make every cut feel deliberate

  • Nimble control for small, exact movements
  • Featherweight, precision-built stainless steel construction
  • Finger-notched grip for a responsive, reactive feel

If you’ve already got a steady hand, a clear vision, and discerning taste in tools, we’ve got the final piece of the paper-cutting puzzle. Say hello to the Spectra Scissors, a purpose-built pair for your most exacting cutting needs. Made for more specialized work, their notched shoulder grips and featherweight balance come together in colorful harmony to deliver unusually precise, controlled cuts.

Spectra has a circular hinge mechanism, optimized blade angle, and cast stainless steel construction in a smaller, nimbler profile. They’re made for the projects that need that extra little bit of discipline and control. Collage, crafting, cropping photos the old-fashioned way — the Spectra Scissors were specifically designed for the cutting needs that fall outside the ordinary or day-to-day.

Available in four new color combinations, Spectra expands Chroma’s expressive palette with a bold mix of finishes and vinyl-dipped grips.

Why craighill?

Everything we make starts its life in our Brooklyn Studio. Each object begins with a problem that we tackle with curiosity and solve through relentless exploration. Designed to last and built from enduring materials, our products feel timeless from the very first moment you meet them. We make everyday objects and tools that live with you and grow more meaningful with time.

Built For Life

We’re committed to making everyday objects built to last for generations. That's why we're proud to introduce our For Life Guarantee.

Our Promise to You

"There's really just no better feeling when buying a product than thinking 'this could last me for the rest of my life'"
— Hunter Craighill

About Us

our story

We make things.

We just try not to call them that. They have names like Swingtop Lighter, Chroma Scissors, and Wilson Keyring.

On any given Tuesday, someone on our design team — led by co-founder Hunter Craighill — has a pair of calipers out. Someone else is passionately advocating for a specific hinge angle. Desks are littered with sketches and design books, and there's a prototype or two that was almost right, but now it’s bound for the archive. Onward and upward.

This devotion to iteration, precision, and just plain getting-it-right is all in service of making objects we want to live with. Objects that work so well, for so long, while bringing such joy that they begin to feel like extensions of ourselves.

Too many daily objects have become cheap, less effective, or just flat-out boring. You pick them up and feel nothing, except for the dull hint of disappointment. That's a real shame, and it’s something we won’t accept.

Our antidote is to make objects that meet the needs of the everyday, every day. And ideally, a good long while after that. That’s why we call our warranty the For Life Guarantee.

We've been doing this up in our little corner of North Brooklyn since 2015, and even if we weren't here making these objects, we'd still be somewhere wishing they were in our lives.

If someone’s going to do it, why not us?
